GIRS at the UC ITS Forum on Innovative Mobility Research
/Dr. Mihai Diaconeasa represented the B. John Garrick Institute for the Risk Sciences at the UC Forum on Innovative Mobility organized by the UC Institute of Transportation Studies (UC ITS) in Sacramento on Friday, November 30th.
The majority of the time was spent in small working groups sharing and discussing "Innovative Mobility" research priorities for the State of California that will inform the development of a comprehensive research plan and guidance document for the State of California on "Innovative Mobility". It includes all new forms of mobility and services (e.g., automated vehicles, app-based ride-hailing, zero-emission vehicles, bike-share, scooters, connected vehicles and infrastructure, and more).
Overall, the event goals were the following:
Leverage expertise from across the UC system to develop a proposal for a statewide research initiative on innovative mobility.
Increase collaboration and communication among UC researchers engaged in innovative mobility related research.
